MJR Fine Art Management was launched by Mark Richards, who has over 16 years in the art world working for major international auction houses, including as Managing Director for Bonhams Scotland. He recognised that the art world needed to adapt to meet the demands of a large sector of clients and their changing requirements for buying and selling.

Such demands could not be met by either the auction houses, whose loyalty lies primarily with their vendors, or the traditional role of the dealer. These clients want independent, professional and specialist advice, and someone to take the time, complication and hard work out of sourcing fine art and antiques, so that they can enjoy their acquisitions.
